Dog Training - Positive Reinforcement - no force based training

Yes….even old dogs can learn new tricks. However, Puppy Training should begin right away.

Dog Training by Tahoe Best Friends
Does your dog listen to you? Is walking your dog on a leash a pleasant experience? Does "come" really mean "come"?

Does your dog have unhealthy social skills such possessiveness, dominance, guarding, fear or shyness, excessive barking, or hyperactivity?

Which do you prefer?

We offer group and individual training to help your dog become a valuable part of your family!  The training is to provide focus, safety and obedience using positive reinforcement methods.
No force based training. NO shock collars and choke chains please!
Promoting humane treatment every step of the way!

At what age should I start training my puppy?

The sooner the better! Actually, very responsible breeders start training their pups as young as 5-6 weeks, so by the time they are placed in homes they already have a good start. Your puppy starts learning the moment he first sets foot in your house. You might as well make sure he learns the right things from day one.

Tahoe Best Friends accepts puppies in classes starting at age 10 weeks (at least two of their puppy shots for protection) before they start romping with their classmates. Tahoe Best Friends use gentle, positive training methods and we can start them at a very early age. We start a new class every week, so you never have to wait more than a week to get into a class.
